Deirdre D’Orazio, PhD
Biography
Dr. Deirdre D’Orazio is a clinical and forensic psychologist who works in state service and private practice. She is employed by the California Department of State Hospitals where she has held a variety of positions over the past twenty years servicing forensically committed individuals with sexual offenses, including as director of the sexual offense treatment program and evaluation services at DSH-C; SVP-evaluator, and currently as a consulting psychologist to CONREP Operations. She is a member of the California Sex Offender Management Board. She serves as At-Large Representative on the leadership board, member of the Adult Clinical Committee and Forum editorial board for the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers. She is an ATSA fellow. She is a board member of the Sexual Offender Civil Commitment Network. Dr. D’Orazio is a recipient of the Fay Honey Knopp award by the California Coalition on Sexual Offending for positive and sustained contributions to the field of sexual offending. Dr. D’Orazio has publications, professional trainings, and research projects in the areas of sexual offense risk assessment, paraphilic disorders, best practices in sexual offense specific treatment, program development and evaluation, and professional ethics and supervision. Dr. D’Orazio has provided evaluations, expert witness testimony, and direct treatment services for more than 1,800 individuals that have perpetrated or been victimized by violent or sexual crimes. She holds psychologist licenses in California, Minnesota, and North Dakota. She is a certified trainer for multiple risk assessment tools: Static 99R, Stable and Acute 2007, VRS-SO, SRA-FV.
