From your interview with Jared, you have determined the following facts and impressions.

When asked about people in his life, Jared identifies:

  1. Susan, his mother, lives several hours away. She provides some emotional and financial support, although she has struggled with methamphetamine use since his childhood.  He also reported limited current contact due to her new boyfriend, whom he does not like.
  • Jennifer, his older sister, lives a few hours away.  She is attending graduate school and is on the Dean’s list. She is emotionally supportive of Jared, although she limits her contact with him when he is using drugs. However, they have consistent phone contact.
  • John, a childhood friend who now owns a computer business and a home with his wife. John is actively involved in the AA/NA community as a sponsor and participates in other community projects.  He checks in on Jared, and they get together regularly.
  • David has been a friend of Jared for four years. They tend to use drugs when hanging out and committed the Attempted UUMV together.
