Statistics and Probability for SAARNA Trainers #3: Estimating Likelihoods Using Logistic Regression

Logistic regression is used to generate the recidivism rate estimates for Static-99R and Static-2002R.  Consequently, a basic understanding of logistic regression is useful to evaluators who report recidivism rate estimates for these tools.  This session will explain exponential and logistic distributions, and why they are ubiquitous in nature.  Participants will then learn to read and interpret logistic regression equations, and how to compute recidivism rate estimates using the equations associated with the current STATIC norms.  Bring a calculator.

Prerequisites: Participants must be local or independent SAARNA Certified Trainers.
