Description of Event:
Static-2002R is an actuarial risk scale for sexual recidivism combining easily available information to assess adult men convicted of a sexually motivated offence. BARR-2002R comprises a subset of Static-2002R items to maximize accuracy in assessing risk for violent and any recidivism outcomes. The scales have moderate to large predictive accuracy. This training is appropriate for anyone involved in risk assessment for those charged or convicted of sexually motivated offences. The training will present background and research information on the Static-2002R/BARR-2002R and will teach participants how to score, report, and interpret the scale in applied evaluations.
Individuals are most likely to benefit from this training if they have some knowledge of sexual offending and individuals who commit sexual offences. As well, the training assumes basic familiarity with the criminal justice system and related terms.
