This presentation examines the predictive validity of Static-99R for men of East Asian heritage, with a particular focus on a new validation study from South Korea (n = 8,207). Despite some cultural differences in the pattern of sexual offending, Static-99R discriminates between sexual recidivists and nonrecidivists in East Asian samples as well as it does in Western samples. There is insufficient research to make strong statements about calibration between expected and observed rates in non-Western samples.
